About the Role
Job Responsibilities:
- Dessert Creation: Develop and prepare a wide variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods that align with the restaurant’s concept and seasonal menus.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and refine dessert menus, ensuring they complement the overall dining experience and highlight creativity.
- Quality Control: Ensure the highest quality of all dessert preparations, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
- Ingredient Management: Source and manage inventory of ingredients, ensuring freshness and sustainability, while adhering to budget constraints.
- Plating and Presentation: Design and execute visually appealing dessert presentations that enhance the customer experience.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Hygiene and Safety: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends and techniques; bring new ideas and inspiration to the team.
Requirements
Mama Lillie's Southern Comfort Food, is an exciting new addition to Florida's vibrant culinary scene, dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience with a focus on quality ingredients and innovative flavors. We are in the startup phase and are looking for a passionate and creative Pastry Chef to join our team and help shape our dessert offerings.
Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role in a full-service restaurant. - Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and dessert preparation. - Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred. - Creative flair with a passion for dessert-making and presentation. - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
